Using project management tools and processes is often seen as applicable only for larger projects. Small businesses may have smaller scale projects but they have unique challenges of their own. What is needed is a method that focuses on the essential steps and doesn’t waste time on overkill. We will outline the essential ingredients to manage small projects to successfully deliver project results.

Successful Projects is excited to partner with GeProS to offer this new certification course. I have not seen much in the way of formal training on this topic, especially a training program that is backed by research and a formal maturity model approach. Virtual Teams are becoming the norm in many organizations bringing in people from different locations and cultures, across time zones and knowledge areas all with differing levels of technical savvy. Yet, we do not equip our teams and project leaders to utilize best practices and gain a level of maturity in leveraging available tools and techniques to make our virtual teams effective and performing at a high level. I think this is a must for many organizations and a great skill set to have for anyone currently leading virtual teams or aspiring to move into a leadership role where interaction with virtual teams is pretty much a given in today’s business environment.

Leaders of virtual teams need to focus on internal team processes that play an important role in improving performance. Combining procedures from project management, team development theories, psychological aspects of motivation and group behaviour, the Virtual Team Maturity Model (VTMM®) focusses on special needs and practises for virtual teamwork, such as compensating for missing face-to-face interaction.
Once the key elements to enhance virtual team performance are identified, the next step is to assess their presence in a virtual team and close any gaps with cost-efficient applicable solutions to improve performance.
You Will Benefit From
Learning and discussing methods to improve virtual teamwork with fellow classmates
Sharing experiences and obstacles
Finding creative approaches for solutions together
Experiencing interactive virtual teamwork and teambuilding
Assessing the state of your team’s development and areas of improvement
Developing a dynamic approach to continually improve your own and your team’s virtual teamwork skills
You Will Take With You
Practical ready-to-use solutions for your individual virtual team project
Customized templates and action plans to work with
